Language Supervisor (Mongolia)

Support Services Department, Asia North Area

Responsibilities:

  • Assigns and monitors all translation work in assigned area by matching project complexity with the ability and workload of individual translators, and by providing direction to see that projects are completed in a timely manner.
  • Translates, reviews, and proofreads all materials to be translated by assigning work among staff and contractual translators, and by personally completing various translation projects, as appropriate.
  • Determines the acceptability of translation, interpretation, and recording completed by translation staff and contractual translators by reviewing, proofreading, evaluating, and correcting the work.
  • Controls the quality and acceptability of non-English Church publications by proofreading text and by reviewing typesetting, layout, and art work.
  • Recruits translators and interpreters from the ranks of local, active Church members and trains them in the Church translation process.
  • Plans, directs, manages, monitors, controls, and closes production projects of small to medium complexity.
  • Uses standard processes to ensure production projects will satisfy the needs for which it was undertaken.

Qualifications:

  • Mastery of spoken and written English, including vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and syntax.
  • Broad experience in making literary and technical translation and interpretation on a variety of levels.
  • Thorough knowledge of word processing functions and an understanding of graphic production and language recording.
  • Knowledge of Church doctrine, policies, and organization.
  • Manage and communicate with cross-functional team members.
  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget of production projects

HR Business Partner

Human Resources Department, Asia North Area

Responsibilities:

  • Aligning workforce planning with business priorities and strategic planning activities. Performance management and metrics. Organization design and development, job data, and total compensation analysis, etc. Identifying HR solutions to support business strategy. Communicating updates regarding HR processes. Conducting selection interviews.
  • Working with line management and in change management. Works with limited supervision, operates with latitude for un-reviewed action or decisions. Assignments are broad and complex in nature usually involving a matrix reporting situation or legally challenging issue.
  • Demonstrates excellent judgment in providing innovative and creative solutions to complex issues, including some influenced by culture, language, legal requirements, and other sources of complexity. Interprets and applies organizational policy. May recommend change in policy and procedures.
  • Leads in complex projects/assignments of significant scope, working closely with senior line management. Leads in connecting HR to business purposes and interprets strategy to meet business needs. Leads, plans, and conducts assignments. Reviews progress and evaluate results. Plans and assigns personnel for given projects or tasks. Assists with the review and evaluations of personnel performance.

Qualifications:

  • Typically expected to have a Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or related field or equivalent experience, and 8+ years Human Resource experience. Master’s degree preferred. HR certification preferred.
  • Possess and apply comprehensive knowledge of Human Resource profession to the completion of complex assignments. Proven HR professional and high-level influencer inside the organization. Possesses project management and people management skills. Applies advanced strategic, analytical, and technical skill to solve complex issues.
  • Natural talents and abilities for this level. Business-level local languages and English proficiency. An equivalent combination of human Resource experience, education, and natural talents and abilities may be substituted in appropriate circumstances.

On-call driver (Independent Contractor)

Support Services Department, Asia North Area

Responsibilities:

This contract exists to support administrative purposes in the assigned area by providing driving services. On-call drivers are those that respond to work needs regardless of the time or day of the week. Because of this on call drivers need to be okay with waiting to be asked to come to work and adjusting the driver’s personal schedule accordingly. An on-call driver for the Church may not be asked to drive for weeks or months or may be asked to drive on a full-time basis for periods of time. They typically respond with little notice, sometimes to cover for another driver who is unable to work at the last minute. On call drivers should have a flexible personal schedule, one that is not filled with a lot of unchangeable personal commitments.

The following are expected.

  • timely arrival to all requested appointments;
  • be organized, efficient and professional at all times;
  • provide a schedule of times they are most available to the driver’s supervisor;
  • maintain rider confidentiality and be responsible for rider safety while in the vehicle;
  • keep the Church’s vehicle clean and properly maintained, and timely and accurately keep records of driver’s work and vehicle paperwork as requested by the supervisor;
  • be safety-conscious and safely operate the Church’s vehicles and otherwise care for Church property;
  • be responsible for always following rules and regulations of the road;
  • maintaining ongoing communication with riders and others are requested by the supervisor;
  • abide by Church policies and procedures

 

Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid temple recommend
  • Driving license
  • Clean driving record
